Race Report: Seremban Half Marathon

Flag off while drizzling, and it is good for me, not that warm.

I was stop from weekdays regular training for almost 3 months, not aim for good results, just hope can completed it with injury free.

Felt that a lot of runners overtook me, especially after 11km onwords, I know my ace was too slow already.

Traffic control from 8km to 11km was not that good, anyhow still unfer control.

Drink station were sufficient enough, served water and sports drink, sponging station also available.

As usual, the last one km around Seremban Lake Garden area was most messy, run together with vehicle.

Suprising saw brother Tey Eng Tiong snap photo at Seremban Lake Garden area. Thanks a lot and appreciated for the photos.

Crossed finishing line with my PB (Personal Bad) at Seremban with 1'50:54 gun time...

Nice medal, my fifth medal from Seremban Half Marathon.

Last minute sign up for this event sfter skip for 2 year. Ipoh route know as flat as airport runway, I not putting a lot of hope in this run, just hope to completed it.

Started  pace with Annie Yee, but I was give up after 3km, just can saw her back before she lost in my vision after 9km++. Anyhow I still completed first 12km with 59 min 27 sec, much more better than SCKLM and Sundown.

Weather getting hot after 14km++ at Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah and Kampung Simee area, felt suffer after 17km+ when meet up a lot slow 10km, 7km runner. Pace become slow down, when reach 19km+, saw brother Tey and Chuah Sakura were snap photos there, I know I was near to finishing.

Run into stadium area and push for last few hundred meter, crossed finishing line with 1'40:50 for under distance half marathon (19.88km).

Glad to completed my 50th half marathon in my entire running life, more half marathon to come....

My first 21 km race in Malaysia for this year, just aim to do sub 1:50 as lack of training recently.

Run with comfortable pace until 18km, I thought I should able to run with 1:48 for this race, but my body feel tired at last 2 km, anyhow try to maintain and crossed finishing line with sub 1:50.

SCKLM 2012, well organized event, I have nothing to complaint about it.

Again, switch from runner to photographer and snap 900+ photos.

Race Report: Sundown Marathon 2012

My first 21 km race in 2012, and also can consider the earliest flag off race I ever join. Ran the whole race in sleepy feel.

Both 42km and 21km are flag off at the same time and same place, run together with full marathon runners antil 14km++. "Turn" is the feature of the route, Left Turn, Right Turn and U-Turn, I really can't remember how many U-turn in the whole 21km route. Other than run on tar road, also on cement especially along Marina area, and also some grass as well.

I try my very best and aim to do sub 5:00 pace for first 12km, but mission failed, only 11.85km with 60 minutes. I was too tired after 15km onwards, slow down after that, run with what I train, not what I aim, but still very suffer, perhaps it was sleep time.

Hydration station are sufficient enough at every 2 to 3km, serve water and some both water and isotonic. Distance marker are clear, but I start to found it was under distance when I saw the marker was 400m different with my GPS.

When reached Nicoll Highway at the last one km, I try to push myself to the limit, just hope I won't break 1:50. Crossing finishing line with 1:49:14, with slightly under distance, 20.75km as per my GPS.

My split time:

0 -  5 km    :  24:07  -->  0'24:07
5- 10 km    :  25:59  -->  0'50:06
10-17 km   : 38:35  -->   1'28:41
17-20 km   :  16:49  -->  1'45:30
20-20.75km :  3:44  -->  1'49:14

A nice finisher medal as awards for my hard work.

Heavy rain started about 3:10 am, 2 hr 40 min after flag off, I am lucky that already back to finishing, but pity all those who still in the run.

Race Report: New Year Newton Challenge 2012

Location: Bandar Kinrara, Puchong

Not well prepared and knee pain, aim to do 2:20 initially, with slightly over distance like 2010, but end up with under distance this year.

Glad this year flag off at 5:30am, an hour earlier compare with previous year.

Started the multiple rolling hills after 4km until 20km, really suffer especially during down hill, knee pain after 14km onwards, sometimes have to run with one and half legs, not both legs.

Drink stations every 3.5km, mostly served water, only few isotonics drink after 13km, better than nothing.

Felt happy that I can crossed finishing line with sub 2:15, better than my expectation, but slightly under distance.

Switch myself from runner to photographer, but end up with forget to have group photo with my LLC gang...
